Hi! I’m Mal!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope that each and everyone one of you get a little something out of it 🙂
A little bit about me:
I am originally from Wallingford, Connecticut, but decided at 17 that I wanted to move to California to go to college, so I did. I was there for about 4 years and made some memories and friendships that will last me for my entire life. From California I hopped over a bit further west and landed on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. That was 8 years ago and I have been here ever since.
Career wise, I started my adult life as a full time nanny, which I did for about 10 years (dotted with a few service industry positions here and there), and I absolutely LOVED it!! Unfortunately the only guarantee in that job, is that at some point you will no longer be needed 🙁
So next I jumped into the world of Wedding Planning. This was something that I also LOVED with all my heart, but unfortunately wouldn’t give me the financial freedom that I needed at the time (student loans are the devil) so after 2 years I had to transition into another career.
The last stop on this little job train is Corporate Event Design and that is currently where I am. I am an Event Designer for the biggest Destination Management Company in Hawaii and I (you guessed it) LOVE it. So I have definitely been very lucky in life to do things that I really enjoyed and continue to enjoy.
As far as in my personal life, I am married to an amazing man, who absolutely drives me insane every single day. But I wouldn’t trade it, or him for anything. And just this year I was blessed with the single greatest thing that has ever happened to me, our baby boy Reef.
Lastly, why you are all here… the blog! I have always enjoyed writing and have wanted to start a blog for years and years but just never had the discipline or the time. Luckily, being on maternity leave gave me some downtime that I haven’t been accustomed to in the past, which gave me the opportunity to get this started (gotta love nap time!).
Here you will find information on marriage, motherhood, and the corporate design world as seen through my eyes (usually with a little humor mixed in). Basically it is just my life, one wild and precious day at a time.
